The 4th of July fireworks are back *ON* in Colorado Springs -- for the first time since 2008. The display Thursday at Memorial Park will happen at dusk following a performance by the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. Up to 100,000 people are expected.
Fireworks will also go off after tomorrow's Sky Sox game at Security Service Field. The game itself is sold out, but the fireworks will be visible for miles.
CSFD says The Broadmoor and Kissing Camels Country Club also have permits for large private displays.
Below is the list where in Southern Colorado you *CAN* see public fireworks on the 4th of July:
Colorado Springs - Memorial Park
Colorado Springs - Security Service Field (following Sky Sox Game)
Calhan - El Paso County Fairgrounds (following speedway racing)
Pueblo - Historic Arkansas Riverwalk
Pueblo West - Palmer Lake Drive (visible from most areas)
Westcliffe - Lake Deweese
Rocky Ford - Babcock Baseball Park
Las Animas - High School Football Field
Lamar - Prowers County Fairgrounds
Walsh - Walsh City Park
