A scare over a possible missing child from Memorial Hospital apparently started when the child wasn't properly checked out of the hospital.

The 19-month-old girl was the subject of a search that started just before 8 a.m.

When it became apparent their young patient was missing from her room, the hospital started child abduction procedures and notified police. The child was later found with her parents.

Cari Davis from Memorial Hospital told News First 5, "This patient was in her room, had been checked upon and it appears that her father took her out, she was dressed in plain clothes."

Since the child was not in patient clothing she didn't stand out when her parents took her from the building. They say they'll look at security procedures to see if anything needs to be changed.
