Meeting planned on Austin Bluffs construction

The Pikes Peak Regional Transportation Authority and the City of Colorado Springs will host a public meeting to present ideas for widening three key sections of Austin Bluffs Parkway.

The open house will be held on Thursday, November 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Calvary United Methodist Church at 4210 Austin Bluffs Parkway. Based on the comments received at the June open house, the project team has put together a preferred alternative for each of the three project segments.

For Austin Bluffs Parkway to become a consistent six-lane roadway, three segments need to be widened. This phase of the project focuses on the design of these segments:

  • Nevada Avenue to Union Boulevard
  • Union Boulevard to Meadowland Boulevard
  • Barnes Road to Old Farm Drive

The construction of the three segments is anticipated to begin in 2012, pending future funding.
