A medical airlift jet blew its tires as it tried to take off from Anchorage's main airport.
The Lifeguard Ambulance jet was accelerating down a runway at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport just after noon Wednesday when some of the tires blew.
Department of Transportation spokesman Roger Wetherell says the pilot aborted the takeoff, deploying a parachute to stop the jet.
There were no injuries to the flight crew, patient or passengers.
The flight had originated in Colorado, stopped in Anchorage for refueling and was taking off for Seoul. The patient and a relative were transported to an Anchorage hospital.
Airport manager John Parrott says debris was scattered over much of the runway.
