McInnis launches Colorado campaign for governor

Republican Scott McInnis has launched a statewide campaign for governor.

The former congressman told supporters on Monday that Democratic Gov. Bill Ritter has made serious mistakes and deserves to be replaced.

McInnis says Ritter bet against Colorado's gas industry with tough new regulations and against the military by rejecting expansion of a training facility. He said Ritter is also betting on budget cuts by allowing criminals to get early parole.

McInnis announced his campaign in July and he has already made one statewide tour.

Other announced candidates for the Republican primary next year include Evergreen businessman Dan Maes and state Senate Minority Leader Josh Penry.
