McCulloch boulevard construction will slow down drivers

Drivers in Pueblo West can expect delays as construction starts on a busy roadway. South McCulloch Blvd. is getting a makeover between U.S. Highway 50 and John Powell Blvd. Crews are repaving the road, adding turn lanes and improving the drainage system.
Construction is scheduled Monday through Friday for the next nine months. "It's a very high traffic area and the roads are really in bad shape right here," said Mark Pierson, Project Manager for Pueblo County.
Pierson says the cost of the project is split--Pueblo County is paying $3.5 million, while the Pueblo West Metro District is paying $800,000.
Crews also want to remind drivers to slow down. The speed limit has been reduced to 25 miles an hour.
