Mayor Bach hires new City Clerk

Mayor Steve Bach has hired a new City Clerk for Colorado Springs; Sarah Johnson should join city staff Monday June 4th, following City Council approval May 22nd.

According to a release from the Mayor's communications office, Johnson has 18 years of elections experience. Most recently Johnson worked for seven years as the Executive Director of the Kentucky State Board of Elections.

Johnson replaces former City Clerk Kathryn Young who retired last year. Young had served as Colorado Springs' City Clerk since 1994, and had worked for the city for the last 28 years.

If approved, Johnson will receive a salary of $115,000 a year.
