DENVER (AP) - A man who pleaded guilty in the fatal shooting of a Denver police officer at a park last summer has received the maximum sentence.
Rollin Oliver was sentenced Friday to 26 years in prison. He says he's sorry for what happened.
He pleaded guilty in April to second-degree murder in the death of Celena Hollis, who died after Oliver fired shots into the crowd as a free City Park Jazz concert wound down. His lawyers have said Oliver was being chased by gang members when he drew his weapon.
One of the bullets struck Hollis, who was rushing to break up a disturbance.
