A man faces federal charges after agents raided his home last week.

Prosecutors Tuesday charged Chris Bartkowicz with one count of possession with intent to manufacture, dispense, or distribute. A conviction carries up to 40 years in prison.

Federal prosecutors say Bartkowicz came under suspicion when Drug Enforcement Administration agents read on article on a television news Web site. In it, Bartkowicz says he hoped to earn hundreds of thousands of dollars from his growing operation. DEA Denver's top agent Jeffrey Sweetin in interviews says that goes beyond Colorado's law that allows caregivers to help sick people.

Court documents indicate Bartkowicz has numerous arrests for cultivation and possession.
