Marijuana business academy draws investors to Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS - A growing number of investors are showing interest in the marijuana business in Colorado. The Mining Exchange hotel in downtown Colorado Springs will host this weekend's Marijuana Business Academy.

Organizer KC Stark said he initially booked the event at a different hotel but now plans to shuttle his guests to the larger venue because of the increased demand.

The purpose of the event is the educate investors on all aspects of the marijuana industry and how to avoid legal pitfalls.

"It's the A and Z of how to enter this business properly based on the regulations and rules we have today," Stark.

The one day conference begins at 9:00 a.m. Saturday. Registration costs $299. Stark has held similar academies every other month for the past two years.
