Marian Busey's most recent exhibit opens Sunday

Creating artwork is something Marian Busey has been doing for nearly 100 years, starting at the age of two.

Her work has been a staple of the Arati Gallery (2425 W. Colorado) in downtown Colorado Springs since it opened 37 years ago.

This Sunday afternoon, starting at 12 p.m., is the grand opening of her most recent exhibit, coinciding with her 102nd birthday the following day.

"It means I want people to see some of the things that I can do," Busey says.

Outside of art friends say Marian still keeps her independence by walking to the beauty shop and living on her own.

She shows us that age simply doesnt matter if you're passionate about what you do.
