Many brave the cold at Festival of Lights Parade

Many braved the cold at the Fedstival of Lights Parade in downtown Colorado Springs to kick off the holiday season. Although tempertures were in the teens, it didn't stop spectators from getting into the holiday spirit. Hundreds lined the streets to participate in the event. The parade kicked off at 5:50 this evening. It started at the corner of Tejon and Saint Vrain Street and proceeded south on Tejon to Vermijo Avenue. The Festival of Lights Parade selected the Empty Stocking Fund as its charity. Collection elves attending the parade took in donations. Every dollar that was donated will be doubled.
