"I was hoping we could find something," Jay Cribbs says while searching a wooded area near Rampart Range Road in Woodland Park.
Cribbs is the father of the mother of two, 33-year-old Mindy Lee, that's been missing since Friday. He's doing all he can to find his daughter.
"She disappeared under suspicious circumstances, and you can't sit still," Cribbs explains.
Mindy was last seen Friday. Her mother, Vicki White, told News First 5 that Mindy was sick and had told White that her friends would take her to the hospital Friday night, but she never checked in.
White tells us Mindy's friends say she ran away when they tried to take her to the hospital, but after interviews, police say she got out of a truck miles away, near Woodland Park High School, with no shoes and no coat.
Now White is frantic, and doesn't know what to do to bring her daughter home.
"Mindy, if you can hear me, please call home," White said, pleading to television cameras Saturday.
So Cribbs, along with family and friends, keeps looking. However, with different locations people are saying Mindy was last seen, it's hard for Cribbs to know where to begin looking.
"It just doesn't add up," Cribbs explains.
They've been getting updates from police; like their use of K-9 units to try and find Mindy's trail, and that law enforcement has checked out the home of Mindy's friends that she was recently at -- near Divide. But the family isn't hearing much right now.
"You fear the worst and hope for the best, that's all you can do," says Cribbs, but he's not just waiting for the updates to come to him.
"You can't sit still with something like this you have to go out and look."
Until his daughter is found, that's all Cribbs plans to do.
Mindy Lynn Lee is described as 5'3, with blonde hair and green eyes. If you have any information as to her whereabouts, please call the Woodland Park Police Department -- (719) 687-9262.
