Mandatory evacuations lifted for several areas in Colorado Springs

The following evacuation areas are being downgraded to pre-evacuation status effective at 8 p.m. tonight, and residents may return to their homes and businesses may resume operations.

· Oak Valley Ranch

· Pinon Valley

· Peregrine

· Grand Centennial Apartments

· All businesses along Centennial and 30th

Centennial Boulevard will also re-open at 8 p.m. Mountain Shadows (from south of Wolfe Ranch Rd. and west of Flying W Ranch Rd to 30th St.) remains under Mandatory Evacuation status.

Also, many of the area parks will be reopening today and tomorrow. Garden of the Gods visitor center and park reopens at 2 today. Pikes Peak Highway and the COG railway are also opening, along with Ute Valley Park.

North Cheyenne Canon Park remains closed.
