Man stabbed with kitchen knife

Colorado Springs Police were called to the 400 block of Valley Hi Circle at the Marjorie Manor Apartments on the report of a disturbance at around 3:00 am Saturday. When officers arrived the found a male later identified as Akeem Thomas who had sustained an apparent stab wound. It was also learned at the time that Thomas had physically attacked and threatened to kill the female in the apartment.
The investigation revealed that the female victim had grabbed a kitchen knife during the initial attack, stabbing the Thomas to protect herself and end the struggle. The female victim only sustained minor injuries and was attended to by paramedics on scene.
Thomas was transported to a local hospital for treatment after which he was released to be booked into the Criminal Justice Center on 3rd Degree Assault and Harassment charges.
There are no reports detailing the relationship between Thomas and the female victim.
