Man shot, killed after fights near downtown Denver

DENVER (AP) - Police are investigating after a man was shot to death near downtown Denver.
Detective John White says the shooting occurred after a series of fights near 11th Avenue and Broadway at about 1:20 a.m. Sunday. KUSA-TV reports one man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting happened just two days after and a few blocks away from where a 28-year-old man was stabbed to death after leaving a bar to catch a bus home. In that attack, Ryan Haldeman suffered multiple stab wounds and died at a hospital.
