An early Thanksgiving morning fire in Clear Creek County seriously injured one man and damaged three homes. The fire started around 5a.m. in Dumont, just west of Idaho Springs on Interstate 70. Clear Creek County Sheriff Don Krueger says that one person was severely burned in the fire and was airlifted to a hospital in Denver, and that at least a half dozen other people had to escape from the homes. Witnesses could easily see the fire from I-70 and say that an hour after the fire started they were hearing explosions. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
