Man sentenced for kidnapping and assault

A man convicted of assault. robbery and kidnapping was sentenced Wednesday to 63 and a half years in prison. Timothy Clapp knocked 59-year-old Garnett Wright unconscious in the parking lot of a Colorado Springs Target. He tied her up, but she was later able to escape and call police.
That happened in May of 2008. In court Wednesday Wright said she still carries a sense of fear around with her all the time and still suffers from injuries she received in the attack.
Clapp apologized before the court to Wright and her family. He said alcohol abuse has been a big factor in his long criminal history.
