FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Police say a man walked up to officers investigating an attempted robbery and told them he was the culprit.

Authorities say 32-year-old Joshua Denny Johnson surrendered to Fort Collins police at a Walgreens store on Wednesday.

Police tell the Fort Collins Coloradoan a man with a gun had demanded narcotics from the store about an hour earlier. Employees told him they couldn't comply because the drugs were kept in a safe with a time-delay lock, and the man left empty-handed.

Johnson was booked into jail on suspicion of attempted aggravated robbery of a controlled substance.

No phone listing could be found for Johnson and it wasn't known if he had a lawyer.
