Man killed after pulling gun on deputies

LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a Boulder County deputy shot and killed a man in his home near Longmont after he pulled a gun while two deputies were speaking with him.

According to the Longmont Times-Call, the man's mother called deputies on Sunday and said her 43-year-old son had locked himself in his room for several days.

He was identified Monday as Christopher George.

Cmdr. Heidi Prentup says two deputies arrived about 10 minutes later and went to speak with him. Prentup says when the man responded, he pulled a gun during the conversation and was shot by one of the deputies.
