Man found stabbed in Acacia Park after attempted robbery

Late Saturday night at approximately 11:00pm, Colorado Springs Police were called to Acacia Park on the report of a possible stabbing. When officers arrived they found a male victim in the stage area of the park with a stab wound. Officers were able to get a statement from the victim who stated an unidentified suspect approached him asking for money. When the victim refused the suspect stabbed him in the back and fled.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male approximately 40 years old and 5' 9" tall wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening wounds. Anyone who may have witnessed the attack or with viable information should call Colorado Springs Police Operations at 444-7000.
