Lawyers for a man convicted in the drive-by shooting death of Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams are seeking a new trial.

Twenty-six-year-old Willie D. Clark was convicted last month of first-degree murder in Williams' death on New Year's Day 2007, after both men had left the same night club. Clark faces a life sentence at a hearing set for April 30.

Clark's lawyer Darren Cantor alleged in court filings made available Wednesday that some jurors discussed the murder case before deliberations and visited a scene described by a witness, and that a dismissed juror sent a text message to another during deliberations, all in violation of the judge's orders.

Prosecutors had not filed a response as of midday Wednesday.
