DENVER (AP) - A Colorado man is suing Idaho police, accusing a trooper of presuming he had marijuana simply because his license plates were from Colorado, a state where medical pot was legal.
The man who filed the lawsuit is Darien Roseen. According to his attorney, the trooper stopped Roseen at a rest stop near the Idaho and Oregon border back in 2013. Roseen, who was on the way home from his daughter's baby shower in Washington state, says he was detained for hours as his truck was searched.
According to the lawsuit filed in the District of Idaho, no illegal substance was found.
