Man charged with impersonating an officer

Tuesday Colorado Springs Police responded to a disturbance in the 400 block of Hancock Ave.

They were told a man had claimed to be an employee of the Baca County Sheriff's Office.  They said he had taken a marijuana cigarette from another man and swallowed it.  Then, according to the report, he had tried to arrest that man for marijuana possession.

When officers found the suspect he said he was a training officer for several law enforcement canine units. He was identified as Carl Martin.

Martin was arrested for impersonating a peace officer.
