Man arrested for menacing at apartment pool

Felony charges were drawn up and a man was arrested after firing a shot into the air at his apartment complex.

Sergeant Darrin Abbink, a Colorado Springs police spokesman, confirmed details of the incident. It happened a little after 3 a.m. Thursday at 270 Rim View Drive in the Whispering Hills Apartments complex. When police arrived, the victims and the suspect, Zachery Biondi, 24, were in the pool area.

The victims told police that Mr. Biondi pointed the gun at them, then pointed it into the air and pulled the trigger. Mr. Biondi told police he fired the gun and that it was lying on the ground by the pool. Mr. Biondi was taken into custody on the charge of Felony Menacing.  He told police he wanted to quiet those who were making noise.

It has not yet been confirmed if the individuals in the pool were trespassing. No one was injured.
