Man arrested, charged in Pueblo teen's disappearance

WESTMINSTER - A man police were questioning about the disappearance of a 19-year-old Pueblo woman has been arrested and charged with murder and sexual assault, according to jail records obtained by News 5.  Christopher Waide, 23, was interviewed Thursday night in connection with the disappearance of Lea Chali Porter, who has been missing since June 2.  Her mother reported her missing to Westminster Police on June 5.  Westminster police spokeswoman Cheri Spottke tells The Denver Post ( ) that Waide is cooperating with investigators and "is helping with finding the body."

Spottke says Waide and Porter attended the same high school, and they recently reconnected on Facebook.

Porter, who lived in Pueblo, was last known to be visiting friends in Westminster. Her car was found in the parking lot of Waide's Westminster apartment.

Waide is being held in the Adams County Jail without bond.  He is scheduled to be in court on Monday.  The court file on the case has been sealed.

Police have not released any information about Porter's whereabouts.
