BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Boulder County sheriff's officials have arrested a man accused of looting homes that burned in wildfire in September.

Sgt. Lori Cox says 22-year-old Fernando Crespo-Quiroz is accused of stealing copper wiring and other metals from at least two homes. He was arrested Saturday. He has an unlisted phone number and couldn't be reached for comment Sunday.

Neighbors had called authorities to report suspicious activity. The Denver Post reports Crespo-Quiroz faces a felony charge of possessing burglary tools and misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass and theft of less than $500.

The wildfire known as the Fourmile Canyon fire scorched nearly 10 square miles and destroyed at least 166 homes in September.
