Makeshift memorial for CSPD officer

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A makeshift memorial has been set up for a Colorado Springs police officer who died after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle.

Flowers, teddy bears, and American flags are being left beside a highway in memory of fallen officer Matt Tyner.

Police say Tyner was conducting traffic enforcement at the time of the crash Tuesday afternoon. Other circumstances of the crash are still under investigation.

Tyner joined the Colorado Springs Police Department in 1999 and served as a patrol officer, neighborhood resource officer and training academy instructor before becoming part of the motorcycle unit.
