Major storm hits southern Colorado

The storm has arrived. Snow is falling across El Paso County with winds gusting up to 50 miles per hour.

The Colorado State Patrol has issued an advisory for people not to drive Tuesday night unless they have to. Troopers say heavy, wet, and blowing snow is falling and making it very difficult to see.

The Colorado Springs Police Department is on accident alert as of Tuesday night. Roads in El Paso County are wet, but starting to deteriorate. Road conditions from Monument Hill to Fort Collins are snow, and snow packed. Roads between Colorado Springs and Pueblo are also deteriorating with blowing snow and slushy or icy roads.
