I-25 has been re-opened

The multi-car accident that had south-bound I-25 closed for more than 3 hours has been cleaned up.  Steve Tobias from Colorado Springs Traffic Control has said that the crash and debris has been removed from bridge and CDOT has placed de-icer on the bridge. All lanes are open on I-25 at Nevada.

Police say that roads are very slick and there has been multiple car accidents due to icy weather conditions. Lt. David Whitlock from the Colorado Springs Police Department says to use particular caution on bridges. Sand trucks from CDOT and the city are out in force, and roadway conditions are continuing to worsen.

Please take caution while driving in Colorado Springs, roads are slick due to icy weather conditions.  You can check out current traffic conditions by going to our News First 5 Traffic page and for current weather conditions go to our News First 5 Weather page.
