People have been waiting for weeks to find out who the lucky winner is of the $337 million powerball jackpot. It is 44-year old ex-railroad worker Donald Lawson in Michigan. Lawson is the sole winner of the jackpot.
Donald lawson of Lapeer, Michigan was all smiles when he was introduced this afternoon with his mother beside him.
Lawson chose to take the cash lump sum of $225 million. "There was a long line, you know, five, six people in front of me, so something from above, I do have to credit that, told me to go over there and pick my own numbers, which I didn't really pick them, my hand just went," Lawson explaining how he picked his winning numbers.
His winnings are the single largest jackpot win in the history of the Michigan lottery. Lawson quit his job when he found out he won and says it was divine intervention that led him to the win.
