Plenty of people are hitting the road this holiday weekend. The good news is that gas prices are falling. The bad news is that Southern Coloradans think they're still too high!
We had a peak in gas prices in April. A gallon here in Colorado Springs prings has dropped 20 cents since then but still remains 70 cents higher than the beginning of this year. If you don't get to travel this weekend though, you might get a chance during summer.
"I don't think we're going to see drastic decreases but I do think that we're going to see stable prices so that people can plan ahead of time what they want to do," said Wave Dreher, spokesman for Colorado's AAA.
The lowest price in Colorado Springs today is $3.65 at a western convenience store on West Uintah. You can find gas prices in your neighborhood here on our website-- just go to "Traffic" and click on "Gas Tracker."
