Two low cost rabies vaccine clinics will be held in Pueblo over the next few days.
Pueblo City-County Health Department and Pueblo Animal Services are concerned about the increase in positive animal rabies cases in Pueblo. The cases have only been in wildlife, but the concern of officials is that rabies could spread more to domestic animals.
"World Rabies Day on September 28 is a day to protect yourself and your family from rabies," stated Jenna Ward, regional epidemiologist at the Pueblo City-County Health Department. She added, "A great step is making sure your pet's rabies vaccination is up-to-date."
Rabies can be prevented with a vaccine.
Upcoming low-cost rabies vaccination clinics:
Wednesday, September 28th
Rabies vaccines will be free (first 250), other vaccination $10.00, cash only.
