LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) - A Longmont grandfather who describes himself as a social and economic conservative is ending his bid for the presidency.

Jerry Lanser decided to run last year. He tells the Daily Times-Call he filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission at the end of October to withdraw.

The 62-year-old says he plans to vote for Republican Mitt Romney.

Lanser hasn't ruled out another presidential run in 2016 or in 2020.
