DENVER (AP) - Two railroad locomotives sideswiped each other in Denver, tearing open the fuel tank of one and spilling about 2,500 gallons of diesel onto the ground.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway spokesman Andy Williams says no one was hurt in the incident Monday morning in the railroad's Denver yard.

He says the spill has been contained and crews are cleaning it up. Mainline operations weren't affected.

It's not clear how the accident occurred.

BNSF is based in Fort Worth, Texas.
