You don't usually think of weight loss as a step toward a career change, but that's exactly what happened to a local big loser.
Just over a year ago Peggy Mosteller weighed 213 pounds, she's now at about 130 pounds and 19% body fat. Peggy says she was able to kick start her weight loss by joining a local Jenny Craig and getting up off the couch, "When I first started the program I was doing my cardio about five days a week, which consisted of the elliptical."
To stay motivated she made small goals for herself and changed up her exercise routine, adding in weight lifting through circuit training. She also started using a "body media" device, "By your body heat it calculates what your daily caloric burn is," explains Peggy.
Her weight loss and positive attitude translated into a new career, she's now a weight loss consultant for Jenny Craig, "I wanted to do something that would be fun and fulfilling for me," she says.
"Sometimes people have a plateau or they have a bad week and we just put them with Peggy and she says look at me, look at what I've done, you can do it too," explains her boss, Julie Armstrong.
Now that she's reached her goal weight, Peggy is in maintenance mode, she doesn't need the Jenny Craig food anymore, she says she's learned portion control and the lifestyle she needs to keep the weight off.
