A student from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs says she was attacked last December in California by the man accused of killing a teenager earlier this month.

Candice Moncayo told CNN's Larry King she was home in California when she says John Gardner grabbed her and threw her down. This happened in the same park near San Diego where Chelsea King was jogging before she disappeared. She told King, "At one point he picked me up by my shoulders and he started shaking me the way you're not supposed to shake a child. And I managed to get one hand on the ground, my left hand. And I took my right elbow and I bashed him in the nose. And he grabbed his face and turned away from me. And yelled some things. And I got up and I ran faster than I think I've ever run in my life."

Moncayo says she will testify against Gardner. He has pleaded not guilty in the death of Chelsea King as well as the assault against Moncayo.
