Local middle school band to perform at statewide convention

The Heaton Middle School Jazz Band from Pueblo has been selected to perform for the 2011 Colorado Music Educators Association conference in Colorado Springs.
One of only two middle school jazz groups selected, Heaton excels beyond many schools with far more resources. Heaton Instrumental Music Director, Josh Muller, says that this success can be attributed to the hard work of his students.
The Heaton Middle School Jazz Band's performance will be in the main ballroom of the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs from 11:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 27.
A preview of the performance will be presented tonight at 7 p.m. at the Heaton Middle School auditorium at 6 Adair Road in Pueblo.
