Colorado Officiating Announcement

It is with great pride we would like to announce that Tom Chmielewski, a Colorado Springs native, will be Refereeing his first NHL game tonight - the Ottawa Senators VS New York Islanders, 7:00pm ET.

Tom has made an amazing climb to the NHL, working his way through USA Youth Hockey, the USAH Junior Development Program, and all Minor Pro levels of the game. His attitude, determination, and outstanding skills are all qualities that each of us as officials should aspire to achieve.

Toms' Mother and Father, (Bob and Jean), are flying out to attend the game, naturally full of pride, to watch the culmination of a dream and an accomplishment, which quite frankly, is the most difficult achievement in sports officiating.

Congratulations Tom - Colorado couldn't be prouder of you, and game on!

Ron Groothedde

USA Hockey Colorado Referee in Chief
