Students at one local charter school got a lesson in Patriotism today, learning how to properly fold the American Flag.
Fifth graders at James Irwin Charter Elementary School watched a presentation put on by American Legion Post 209 Honor Guard.
Students also learned the meaning of each fold and what the stars and stripe represent.
They were also able to fold pocket sized flags and put a message in each one of them that will be sent to a deployed service memeber overseas.
Students we talked to say they just want to bring cheer to the troops that are fighting for our country.
"I hope that one of the people in the military find my note and maybe cheerup" said Fifth Grader James Grihalda.
Irwin's principal says this was a great way for the kids to do something special forour brave men and women while they are away from their families.
