Colorado Springs Police and the regional Bomb Squad Unit were called to an open area near Rampart High School after someone reported finding small "Pill Containers" with what appeared to be black gun powder in them. The bomb squad responded with their robot to remove the items and determine if the items were safe.
Bomb techs were able to determine that the small devices were home made explosive devices and they were rendered harmless at the scene before they were removed. Police state that there are no witness statements reporting any suspects who might have left the devices near the school. There were no injuries reported and Police are allowing traffic to flow through the area again.
