Lights to stop working at Drennan and Academy

The traffic lights at Drennan and Academy won't work tonight from 7:30 until midnight. Traffic will be guided by flaggers and police officers. Travel will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Due to the amount of traffic in that area, it would be wise to avoid the intersection if possible.
On Wednesday evening northbound Academy will be shifted one lane to the east. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction during this reconfiguration. Drivers should expect reduced speeds while traffic is being switched.
The posted speed limit is 35 miles per hour in the construction area. By Thursday traffic should be back to two lanes in each direction as construction continues on Proby Parkway east of Academy.
