Lightning causes two wildfires off Highway 9

The Fremont County Sheriff's Office is reporting lightning strikes started two small wildfires off Highway 9 Saturday evening, approximately 4 miles north of US 50.

Twenty personnel from the Fremont County Sheriff's Office, Tallahassee, and Deer Mountain fire departments worked a quarter-acre fire northeast of SH 9 while twenty-two firefighters from the Bureau of Land Management and Tallahassee fought a one acre fire southwest of SH 9.

Crews remain on the scene of both fires Sunday morning
for clean-up and checking hot spots. No structures damaged were damaged and there were no injuries.
