Life expectancy may go down this century because of the obesity epidemic.

Researchers at the University of Michigan looked at medical data collected on americans born between 1926 and 2005. They found one out of five adults born during the mid 19-sixties to eighties were obese by the time they reached thirty years-old. Their parents and grandparents didn't reach those weight levels until much later in life.

Experts say carrying extra weight for more of your lifetime increases the chance you'll develop a chronic, sometimes fatal, condition.
