DENVER (AP) - George Pagonis scored a goal and had two assists, and Brent Schwarz was brilliant in net Thursday night as Lewis-Palmer won its second straight state ice hockey championship with a 5-2 victory over Regis Jesuit at the Pepsi Center.
Pagonis gave Lewis-Palmer (22-1) a 4-1 lead when he rocketed a shot past Regis goalie Matt Lechner at 6:41 of the second period. He assisted on Cam Mitchell's goal in the first period and on Travis Fisk's goal in the second.
Schwarz stopped 33 shots for the top-seeded Monument school, allowing only four goals in four playoff games.
Andrew Clark and Zach Roseboro also scored for Lewis-Palmer, which won 18 straight to end the season.
Nick Davis and Nathan Haas scored for Regis Jesuit (21-2), a No. 1 seed from Aurora.
