This month marks six months since the Waldo Canyon Fire devastated our community. The flames have long been extinguished, but we continue learning more about this fire
This fire has the attention of national fire prevention experts who have been studying it for months now. For example, The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NICST), is still gathering information. "NICST is a unique group in the fact that they model. They do a lot of fire modeling. They do a lot of natural disaster modeling. They actually modeled the World Trade Center after that disaster," said Colorado Springs Deputy Fire Marshal, Kris Cooper.
The agencies will make the information available next year. The goal is preventing future tragedies.
