The Colorado Springs Historic Preservation Board and Evergreen Cemetery are partnering to host a historic tour of the cemetery this Saturday as a unique way for citizens to celebrate our local history.
Established in 1871, shortly after the town was founded, Evergreen Cemetery is now home to many of the city's founding fathers...and a ghost or two. Join Cemetery Manager Will DeBoer for tales from the historic crypts of Colorado Springs' oldest cemetery.
When: Saturday, May 21, 2011; 11:00 a.m.
Where: Evergreen Cemetery, 1001 S. Hancock Avenue (Just south of the intersection of Hancock Avenue and Fountain Boulevard)
National Preservation Month is announced each year by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to celebrate the diverse and unique heritage of our country's cities and states. The City of Colorado Springs Historic Preservation Board is a seven-member board that advises City Council on the City's Historic Preservation program.
