Colorado Springs police investigators spent several hours Sunday collecting evidence from a home where hours earlier, a fight at a party turned into a deadly shooting.

The shooting happened just after 2 a.m. on 25th Street, near Cimarron Street. Police tell News First 5, officers found a young man lying in the street. He died at Memorial Hospital.

They're investigating the death as a homicide, but few details are available about what happened.

Neighbors say they saw several teenagers at the party, and then heard people fighting.

The next-door neighbor says she came home from work around 2:30 a.m. to find police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances lining the street.

"At first, I thought it was a fire," explains Audra Johnson. She says to know someone died from gunfire right next door is surprising. "Very much. Yes, very much."

Police say several people were at the party, and they're talking with everyone the can. They have not released the name of the victim and have not made any arrests.
