An emergency preparedness drill is scheduled for Wednesday morning at the Colorado State Fairgrounds to test emergency responders.
Pueblo has a large drill every year as part of the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program. That's because of the thousands of obsolete chemical weapons stored at the Pueblo Chemical Depot east of Pueblo.
The exercise will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Emergency response traffic will likely be seen around the State Fairgrounds and the Pueblo Chemical Depot.
There will also be increased traffic on police scanners, activation of the Tone Alert Radio System and outdoor warning sirens at the Pueblo Chemical Depot.
