PUEBLO, Colo. - Another RMAC Shootout, another win for the two-time defending champion CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves, scoring a come-from-behind victory over Colorado Christian 66-63 in the RMAC Shootout quarterfinals Friday.
Led by the play of newly-crowned RMAC West Division Freshman of the Year, Katrina Selsor, who had 11 first half points, CSU-Pueblo managed to keep pace with a Colorado Christian team that created a lot of opportunities by working the ball inside. Post Juanise Cornell scored 12 points in the first half, set up by a Cougar backcourt that netted 10 assists in the second half. Colorado Christian led by one, 29-28, at the break.
With the game tied at 63 with 2:10 remaining left in the game, Selsor went up for a layup, making the bucket and drawing the foul. She completed the back-end of the three-point play to give CSU-Pueblo a 66-63 lead going into the final two minutes of the game.
Cornell led all scorers with 20 points.
CSU-Pueblo will play fourth-ranked Fort Lewis at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night. The Pack have won the last three Shootout meetings against Fort Lewis.
